Vikas wins bronze for India on Day 2 of Asian Wrestling Championship

Astana. Vikas defeated China’s Zhen Tan in the 72 kg Greco Roman category on the basis of technical superiority by 8. 0 to win India’s third bronze medal in the Asian Wrestling Championship. Sumit (60kg) and Rohit Dahiya (82kg) missed out on bronze medals on the second day of the tournament but Vikas took just one minute and 41 seconds to beat his opponent.

Sumit was defeated by Japan’s Meita Kawana 14.6 while Dahiya was defeated by Iran’s Alireza Azizkhoon M 5. Beaten by 1. India’s Narinder Cheema (97kg) was defeated by the host country’s Oljas Sirlibi by 4. beat by 1. India had won one silver and two bronze medals on the first day.
