Roode was runner-up at the US Open last month. Wawrinka, who has been battling frequent injuries, is now world number 194 but has beaten two players in the top five of the world rankings in the past five weeks. He defeated number four Daniil Medvedev last month in Metz, France. Like Wawrinka, former US Open champion Murray defeated Roman Cefulin of Russia 6-7 (5), 6-3, 6-4.
