Jyotiraditya Scindia’s son Mahanaryaman Scindia got important responsibility in MPCA, became the third generation representative to join cricket

Indore. Mahanaryaman Scindia, the 27-year-old son of Union Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia, has been inducted into the Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association (MPCA) as a life member. A top MPCA official gave this information on Saturday. Mahanaryaman, who was appointed vice-president of the Gwalior Divisional Cricket Association in April this year, is the third generation representative of the influential erstwhile Gwalior dynasty to formally join the MPCA.

Earlier, his late grandfather Madhavrao Scindia and father Jyotiraditya Scindia held top positions in the MPCA. MPCA President Abhilash Khandekar told after the Indore-based Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the organization that Mahanaryaman Scindia is among the six new members inducted into the MPCA as a routine procedure before the AGM. Of these, Mahanaryaman has been made a life member. Khandekar said that Mahanaryaman is the Vice President of Gwalior Divisional Cricket Organization and has been working for the last six-seven years to promote cricket in the division. He said the application of a Union minister’s son, among others, for membership of the MPCA was “pending for the past several days”.

Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia attended the AGM of MPCA held at Holkar Stadium as a member of the organization. On being asked about giving MPCA membership to Mahanaryaman, without mentioning his son’s name, he said that people who have interest in sports and cricket, we should take all such people to MPCA and take the organization forward. Is. We have requested the MPCA management that all new and old members who want to contribute fully to the development of the game should be fully utilized in this field.
Notably, due to the recommendations of the Lodha Committee, senior cricket administrators like Jyotiraditya Scindia and Sanjay Jagdale had to relinquish their key posts in the MPCA in January 2017 as both of them were holding separate positions in the organization’s managing committee for more than nine years. The time had passed. As a result, he became ineligible to hold office in this organization as per the recommendations of the Lodha Committee. Meanwhile, MPCA president Khandekar informed that during the AGM, the outgoing executive body of the organization was elected unopposed for another term of three years.

He said that our executive has been given another term which is a good sign for MPCA. MPCA is a small family. In this, factional politics unnecessarily dominates due to elections and diverts attention from cricket. Apart from President Khandekar, those who have retained their posts in the MPCA executive include Vice President Ramneek Singh Saluja, Honorary Secretary Sanjeev Rao, Honorary Treasurer Pawan Kumar Jain and Honorary Joint Secretary Siddhayani Patni.
