This was the same day when Team India broke the pride of Australia. In fact, on this day, Rahul Dravid and VVS Laxman made such a partnership in the Test match being played at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata, after which India’s glory waved tremendously in the world of cricket. After this match, Laxman became very very special and Dravid was given the title of The Wall.

The second Test match was being played between India and Australia in Kolkata. The conditions were not in India’s favor at all on the fourth day of the second Test. Team India had lost its first match. Was playing follow on in Kolkata. When the third day’s play ended, India’s score was 254 for 4 and it was still 20 runs behind Australia. That is, Team India was standing on the threshold of defeat. But at the same time various Laxman and Rahul Dravid played such a partnership which became a new record. By the end of the third day’s play, VVS Laxman was playing at the crease after scoring 109 runs while Rahul Dravid remained unbeaten after scoring 7 runs in 155 balls.

But whatever happened on the fourth day is still history in itself. On the fourth day, India did not lose a single wicket and were reduced to 589 for 4. Laxman and Dravid shared a 357-run partnership for the fifth wicket. VVS Laxman played the required innings of 281 while Dravid scored 180. India declared its innings at 657 runs. Australia had to score 384 runs to win this match. Due to the amazing bowling of Harbhajan Singh, India managed to win this test match by 171 runs. The entire Australian team was all out.
