Whether Pakistan will host Aisa Cup or not, ACC will decide in tomorrow’s meeting

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chief Najam Sethi has called an emergency meeting of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) on Saturday, February 4. In this meeting to be held in Bahrain, it will be decided whether Pakistan will be handed over the hosting of Asia Cup 2023 or not.

According to a source in ANI, the newly elected chief of Pakistan Cricket Board, Najam Sethi wants to hold an urgent meeting with the Asian Cricket Council chief and members. He expressed his desire to hold a meeting with the ACC members during the ILT 20 opening ceremony in Dubai. However, now this meeting will not be held in Dubai but in Bahrain. It is believed that in this meeting it will be decided whether the Asia Cup 2023 will be held in Pakistan or it will be shifted somewhere else.

It is noteworthy that the President of Asian Cricket Council and BCCI Secretary Jai Shah has clearly stated that the 2023 Asia Cup will not be held in Pakistan. He said that it should be organized at a neutral place. He had said that for the matches between Pakistan and India for the Asia Cup, the game should be organized in the UAE or any other neutral venue. Let us inform that last year Asia Cup was organized in UAE. There is a possibility that UAE may be handed over its hosting again. If this happens then it will not be less than a big blow for Pakistan.

On the one hand, the sword of losing the host is hanging over Pakistan, which is facing financial crisis. On the other hand, Qatar has also expressed its interest in hosting the Asia Cup. Qatar has offered to host the tournament amid political tensions between the neighboring countries. Qatar has also hosted some cricket tournaments and franchise based cricket leagues in the past.

All eyes will be on the meeting
Let us inform that everyone’s eyes will be fixed on the meeting to be held on Saturday, February 4. It will be decided only after this meeting whether the hosting of the 2023 Asia Cup will remain with Pakistan or it will be handed over to any other country.

PCB will try its best
There are many difficulties in front of PCB to keep the hosting of Asia Cup 2023. However, despite these difficulties, PCB chairman Najam Sethi will leave no stone unturned to ensure that they retain the hosting rights. The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) will hold an emergency meeting in Bahrain on February 4 to discuss the venue of the 2023 Asia Cup following a request by Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Najam Sethi.
