IND vs NZ: Shreyas Iyer out of series against New Zealand due to injury, this player’s entry in the team

India has suffered a major setback before the start of the ODI series against New Zealand. In fact, India’s middle-order batsman Shreyas Iyer has been ruled out of the upcoming ODI series due to a back injury. This information has been given by the BCCI. Shreyas Iyer, who was a super hit in ODI cricket in 2022, failed to convert such a good start into big innings this year. For now, Shreyas Iyer will head to the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru where his injury will be assessed and managed. Shreyas Iyer scored 28, 28 and 38 in the recently concluded ODI series against Sri Lanka.

Rajat Patidar has been given a chance in the upcoming three-match series against New Zealand after Shreyas Iyer was ruled out. Rajat Patidar, who plays for Royal Challengers Bangalore in the Indian Premier League, has been in good form of late. Rajat Patidar plays for Madhya Pradesh in domestic cricket. The first ODI between India and New Zealand will be played on Wednesday. It is believed that in the absence of IR, Suryakumar Yadav may get a chance in the team to bat at number four. T20 cricket superhit Suryakumar Yadav is struggling to cement his place in the ODI team.
Shreyas Iyer has been playing ODI and Test cricket continuously for India. He is also the captain of Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL. Shreyas Iyer’s batting in the middle order is considered good.
