India will go to Bangladesh to play three ODIs and two Tests, the first tour after 2015

India toured Bangladesh for three One Day Internationals and two Test matches from December 4 for the first time since 2015. Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) gave this information on Thursday. Dhaka’s Mirpur Stadium will host three ODIs on December 4, 7 and 10. After this, the first Test will be played in Chittagong from December 14 to 18.

BCB president Nazmul Hasan said in a statement that the second and final Test will be played in Dhaka from December 22 to 26. Hassan said, “India and Bangladesh have played some memorable matches in the recent times and fans of both the countries are eagerly waiting for another memorable series.” He said, “I would like to confirm the schedule. I would like to thank the Cricket Board of India for working closely with the BCB. We look forward to welcoming the Indian team to Bangladesh.”

The two-match Test series is crucial as World Test Championship points are at stake. Last time runners-up India are currently running at the fourth position in the table. The four-Test series against Australia in February-March 2023 will be India’s final Test series in the 2021-23 cycle. India lost the ODI series 1-2 in the 2015 tour of Bangladesh, with the lone Test being a draw. BCCI Secretary Jay Shah emphasized on the importance of the series. “India-Bangladesh matches generate tremendous interest among fans. Thanks to the fans of both the teams.
