Hockey India plans to revive the Hockey India League (HIL) from 2024 due to financial reasons and for this, it on Monday announced the exclusive commercial and marketing partner. Hockey India League was discontinued in 2017 due to financial reasons and Hockey India is looking for new partners to restart it. “HIL was a huge success for the game and we are now in the process of resuming it from next year,” Hockey India sources told PTI.
He said, “We want this league to start as soon as possible but till February next year, the World Hockey Federation (FIH) schedule is very busy and there is no ‘window’ free. But this will give us time to settle everything.” Hockey India on Monday announced Big Bang Media Ventures Pvt Ltd as its exclusive commercial and marketing partner agency.
This is the first major step towards restarting the league. Dilip Tirkey, President, Hockey India said, “Today I am very happy as starting the Hockey India League was one of my main priorities when I took over as the President of Hockey India. This will be a significant step forward for India and we are delighted to have Big Bang Media Ventures Pvt Ltd on board as a business partner for HIL.”
He said, “I am very happy that we are moving forward to start a new era of Hockey India League. It will not only revive hockey in India, but will also infuse new energy into the game globally. Hockey India Secretary General Bholanath Singh said, “Hockey India League will bring together the best players in the world on one platform and Young talents will get new learning from this.
