Women’s team enters Asia Cup final, beat Thailand by 74 runs

India defeated Thailand in the first semi-final match of the Women’s Asia Cup 2022. Batting first, India were given a target of 149 runs in 20 overs, thanks to Shefali Varmi’s 42-run knock, to Thailand, who made it to the semi-finals of the Women’s Asia Cup for the first time. However, Thailand’s team could not perform well in the semi-finals and could only manage 74 runs in 20 overs for the loss of nine wickets.
 
Playing first, India scored 149 runs with the help of Shafali Verma’s scintillating innings. Shefali showed a stormy game and scored runs at a strike rate of 150. However, star batsman Smriti Mandhana’s bat did not play in the match, which left the fans very disappointed.

After the dismissal of Shefali, Jemima and captain Harmanpreet Kaur took the team’s score beyond 100 runs. As soon as the score was 109, Jemima’s wicket fell on the personal score of 27 runs. As soon as he was dismissed, Harmanpreet also could not last long. After this, due to the innings of the lower order players, the Indian team could reach the score of 148 runs.
