Young Yashasvi Jaiswal’s half-century helped Mumbai beat Ranji Trophy champions Madhya Pradesh by eight wickets in a big-scoring Group A league match of the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 tournament here on Wednesday. Madhya Pradesh took seven wickets with the help of Royal Challengers Bangalore star Rajat Patidar’s 67 runs (35 balls, five sixes) and Venkatesh Iyer’s 57 runs (35 balls, five fours and two sixes) trying to make a comeback in the national team. Scored 181 runs.

However, Mumbai achieved this target in 17 overs in which Prithvi Shaw scored 29 runs in 12 balls with five fours. Jaiswal then hit an unbeaten 66 off 44 balls with five fours and four sixes to help Mumbai win by eight wickets. Sarfaraz Khan (30 off 18 balls) and Aman Hakim Khan (21 off 11 balls) also made useful contributions. In another match, Rajasthan defeated Vidarbha by nine wickets while Railways registered a seven-wicket win over Mizoram.
