Cummins expects Boland to make ‘big impact’ in WTC final against India

London. Australia captain Pat Cummins expects fast bowler Scott Boland, a favorite to replace injured Josh Hazlewood in the playing XI, to make a big impact in the World Test Championship (WTC) final against India. The sky has been cloudy in London for the last few days and bowlers who swing the ball in these conditions have an advantage. These conditions suit Boland’s bowling. These words of Cummins also almost decided that Boland will be the third fast bowler in the team along with him and Mitchell Starc. When asked about this on the eve of the match, Cummins said, “Hopefully he will make a big impact.”

Such situations are helpful for him. You will say that he has not played much here but he is a bowler who tries to take help from the pitch by pitching the ball in the right places. He has taken 28 wickets in seven Tests so far. Cummins said, “He provides strength to the team. He is a great bowler. He also impressed in the first Test match on a flat pitch in India. If there is any help from the pitch, he will take his game to the next level. ”The Australia captain said that he is waiting to bowl with the Dukes ball.

“The weather here is wonderful this week. It’s a little cloudy today, but if there’s some grass on the pitch, the Dukes ball will help a lot. It will be exciting for the fast bowlers.” Cummins hoped that his team would benefit from the experience of winning the finals of big tournaments. The Indian team is yet to win an ICC trophy since 2013, but Australia won the T20 World Cup two years ago (2021). When Cummins was asked about its effect, he said, “You know one of the advantages of playing more cricket is that you get to experience pressure moments and finals.” In such a situation, we will get the advantage of having an experienced team.
