World Cup Hockey: Online sale of tickets begins

The offline sale of tickets for next month’s Hockey World Cup began in Odisha on Monday. However, fans were left disappointed when they learned that all the tickets for India’s first three matches were sold out. The World Cup matches will be played from January 13 to 29 at the Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar and the newly constructed Birsa Munda Stadium in Rourkela. Hockey fans, including women, reached the counter early in the morning to buy tickets. However, he did not get tickets for India’s matches.

CR Mohapatra, who reached gate number eight of the Kalinga Hockey Stadium, said, “The person at the counter said that only tickets for January 13 and 14 matches are available. However, there is no match for India on both these days. We are told that all tickets for India’s matches have been sold out (online). are sold out. However, not all are as disheartened as Mohapatra. “I am very happy that I will get a chance to watch the World Cup hockey match,” said Akhil Das, who bought tickets for the match between Argentina and South Africa. The tickets are priced between Rs 100 and Rs 500.
