Mumbai Indians not worried about Rohit’s form, says Green

Mumbai Indians all-rounder Cameron Green on Monday dismissed concerns over the form of skipper Rohit Sharma, who has not been up to the mark with the bat in the ongoing Indian Premier League season. In the 10 matches played so far, Rohit has scored 184 runs at an average of 18.39 with just one half-century. Mumbai Indians are sixth and all eyes will be on Rohit when they take on Royal Challengers Bangalore at the Wankhede Stadium on Tuesday. Asked if there is any discussion about Rohit’s form in the Mumbai Indians team, Green told reporters, “Absolutely not.”

“Rohit is a legend, especially with Mumbai and looking at what he has done in his career, we really back him. He can return to form anytime. He has batted well in a few matches, showed good form at the top so we are backing him fully.” Green, who replaced Rohit as the opener against Chennai Super Kings, said he is happy to bat at any position for his team.

He said, “Hopefully whatever we have learned in the first 10 matches, it will hold us in good stead for that (later) part.” RCB batsman Kedar Jadhav, who left the commentary team, said that the impact The Player Rules have changed a few things. He said, “The Impact Player Rule has made teams and players brave and fearless. They have an extra batsman now so obviously they are playing more freely and scoring more than 200 runs instead of 180. Will be strict. He said, “If we leave one or two teams, then most of the teams are in the race to reach the top four. Many teams have a chance now.
