Squash World Cup: India won a big victory by defeating Hong Kong 4-0 in the World Cup after a long time

These days the SDAT WSF Squash World Cup is being organized in Chennai. In this World Cup, the Indian team has started with a win. The host nation India is seeded second in this tournament. India registered a 4-0 victory over Hong Kong-China in the Pool B match of the World Cup played on Tuesday, June 13. With this win, the tournament has started well for India.

 

Ghoshal and Joshna are part of the four-member Indian team for the tournament. Apart from them, Abhay Singh and Tanvi Khanna are also included in the team. At the same time, after losing Hong Kong, the Indian team will now have to face China, South Africa and Japan. India will face South Africa in Pool B on Wednesday.

 

At the same time, Abhay Singh showed a great game for India in this match. Abhay Singh defeated Chung Yat Long 7-2, 7-3, 7-6. Due to this brilliant performance, the Indian team got a winning start. Apart from them, experienced Joshna Chinappa beat Hailey Phung 7-1, 7-5, 7-6 in just 20 minutes to take India 2-0 lead. Earlier Australia had been defeated by Egypt. Top-seeded Egypt whitewashed Australia 4-0.

 

Abhay Singh said after the match, “I was a little nervous in the beginning. There was a big crowd here, you are playing at home and you want to start well. I think I did very well and I’m happy with it.” Sourav Ghosal put India ahead 3-0 after losing the first game 5-7 against Tou Yu Ling, winning the next three games 7-2, Won the match by winning 7-5, 7-1. In the fourth and final match, Tanvi Khanna made a strong comeback after losing the first two games to beat Se Yee Lam Toby 5-7, 6-7, 7-1, 7-4, 7-3 in 26 minutes. Secured a 0-0 win.
