Bismah Maroof’s unbeaten half-century, India got the target of 150 runs

Captain Bismah Maroof (68 not out) scored a half-century and Ayesha Naseem (43 not out) shared an unbroken 81-run fifth-wicket partnership as Pakistan sealed a four-wicket victory over India in their ICC Women’s T20 World Cup match here on Sunday. Scored a challenging score of 149 runs. Pakistan won the toss and elected to bat first, after which their innings revolved around Bismah and Ayesha. Both of them made this partnership in just 47 balls.

Bismah faced 55 balls and hit seven fours in his unbeaten innings. Radha Yadav was the most successful bowler for India. He took two wickets for 21 runs in four overs. Deepti Sharma got India’s first breakthrough by dismissing Javeria Khan (08 runs) who tried to sweep and the ball kissed the edge of her bat and ended up in the hands of Hamranpreet Kaur. Radha dismissed another dangerous looking opener Muneeba Ali (12 runs) to reduce Pakistan’s score to 42 for two.

Muniba tried to sweep Radha’s ball but missed and wicketkeeper Richa Ghosh uprooted her stumps. Pooja Vastrakar did not even allow Nida Dar to open an account. But then Bismah and Ayesha stitched a sensible partnership to help their team post a challenging total. Ayesha scored an unbeaten 43 in just 25 balls at a strike rate of 172 which included two fours and as many sixes.
