But we need to take it one step at a time. The first women’s IPL will have a minimum of five teams consisting of 18 players. There will be 12 Indian and six foreign players, taking the number of local players to 60. The BCCI is yet to reveal the minimum base price but a player can expect to get at least five lakhs in a season. Another former captain Shantha Rangaswamy said, “Women’s IPL will be a game changer and I am sure BCCI will look at other areas as well.
