Suryakumar Yadav’s amazing feat during T20 World Cup 2022, became the boss of T20

Dubai. India’s star batsman Suryakumar Yadav has become the world’s number one batsman in the latest T20 International rankings released by the International Cricket Council on Wednesday, thanks to his stellar form in the recent past. Suryakumar overtook Pakistan opener Mohammad Rizwan to take the top spot with his 25-ball 51 not out against the Netherlands in Sydney last week.
He is only the second Indian batsman to reach the top of the T20 International rankings. Earlier, Virat Kohli was at the top for 1013 days at various times between September 2014 and December 2017. Suryakumar has 863 points which is the second best score by an Indian. Kohli had scored 897 points in September 2014. Apart from cementing his place in the Indian team since his T20 International debut in March last year, Suryakumar has also carved a niche for himself in world cricket as one of the best batsmen in the shortest format of the game.
Suryakumar has scored a century and 11 half-centuries in 37 T20Is for India. He has also represented India in 13 One Day Internationals. Rizwan has 842 marks. Devon Conway of New Zealand is in the top three with 792 points. New Zealand’s Glenn Phillips has gained five points from 104 against Sri Lanka and 62 against England to reach a career-best seventh position.
South Africa’s Riley Roseau has also broken into the top 10 thanks to his 109-run knock against Bangladesh. He jumped 17 places to a career-best eighth place. England captain Jos Buttler has moved up three places to 14th while Afghanistan’s Rahmanullah Gurbaz has gained four places to be joint 17th.
South Africa’s David Miller (up two places to 28th), Sri Lanka’s Bhanuka Rajapaksa (up eight places to 29th), Bangladesh’s Liton Das (up two places to 36th) and Australia’s Mitchell Marsh (up two places). 31st from) and Marcus Stoinis (up two places to 39th) have gained in the latest rankings. Following the weekly update, Sri Lankan spinner Wanindu Hasaranga has moved up four places to the second spot in the bowlers’ list.
