Ganges Grandmasters led by Viswanathan Anand beat Triveni Continental Kings
Dubai. Ganges Grandmasters, led by five-time world champion Viswanathan Anand from India, thrashed Triveni Continental Kings by a massive 14-2 margin in the opening session of the Global Chess League (GCA) here. In this match played on Monday night, four of the six players of ‘Ganges Grandmasters’ won while the remaining two matches ended in a draw. Levon Aronian focused on prolonging the match against Anand and the Indian veteran didn’t have much trouble in fending off his challenge.

In another match, SG Alpine Warriors were defeated by Balan Alaskan Knights 10-9. Ganges Grandmasters are on top of the GCL table while SG Alpine Warriors are on the second spot. Both the teams have the same 12 points but the Ganges Grandmasters have scored more game points.
