Soon after Musharraf’s death, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the media wing of the Pakistan Army, issued a statement saying that the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee, General Sahir Shamshad, and the chiefs of all services expressed their deepest condolences. “May Allah rest his soul in peace and give strength to the bereaved family,” the statement said.
