Media: Travis Barker flew for the first time since the plane crash

The US drummer was critically injured in an accident in 2008.

US drummer Travis Barker (45) has flown for the first time since a serious flight crash in 2008, according to media reports. The Blink 182 drummer was accompanied by his girlfriend Kourtney Kardashian (42). The celebrity portal TMZ.com  posted photos showing the couple on Saturday with a private plane in Los Angeles that took them to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.

Barker was critically injured in a plane crash in September 2008. In the accident in the US state of South Carolina, four of the six inmates died immediately, Barker had suffered severe burns and had to be treated for months. Also injured DJ Adam Goldstein, known as DJ AM, died a year later of a drug overdose.

Since the crash, Barker says he has suffered from extreme fear of flying and avoided air travel. In 2013 he did not go on tour in Australia with the punk band Blink-182. He wrote on Facebook that he had still not overcome the terrible events that happened the last time he flew.
