Hosts India will take on Australia in their first match on October 8 in Chennai while the thriller against Pakistan will take place on October 15 in Ahmedabad. The announcement of the World Cup schedule was delayed several times. Whereas the schedule of World Cup 2019 and 2015 was announced a year in advance.

10 venues have been finalized for the tournament with matches to be held in Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Dharamsala, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai and Pune. Host India will play all its 9 matches at different venues. A total of 10 teams will participate in this mega event, with the first eight teams having already qualified through the Cricket World Cup Super League.

BCCI preparation
The BCCI has drawn up a two-phase plan to upgrade cricket stadiums across the country. Stadiums in India will be renovated even before the start of the World Cup matches. For this, funds will be provided to the stadiums, through which the facilities of the stadiums will be improved.
