Sunil Gavaskar raged on Indian team’s senior players and captain Rohit Sharma

The Indian cricket team also has to play some series before the World Cup. Currently the series is also going on between India and West Indies. In the midst of this series, former Indian team player and veteran batsman Sunil Gavaskar expressed disappointment over India’s performance abroad. He has also raised many questions about captain Rohit Sharma.

Sunil Gavaskar said that he expected better results from Rohit Sharma as captain. Especially in the T20 format as Rohit has also captained Mumbai Indians in the IPL, winning the trophy five times. But under the leadership of Rohit Sharma, the team could not even reach the finals, which is disappointing.

He said that there were high expectations from Rohit Sharma. Better performance was expected from the Indian team under the leadership of Rohit. To do well in India is a different matter. But performing well abroad is the real test of the team, but this performance of the Indian team has been disappointing. Sunil Gavaskar also raised questions about the preparations made for important matches like the World Test Championship. Referring to the West Indies team, he said that the team did not get much time to prepare. He suggested that the real preparation would involve playing practice matches and providing opportunities to the players to prove themselves.

Sunil Gavaskar said that the players who are really important do not want to leave early. It is fixed in the mind of important players that they will be selected in the team, so they are not willing to go early for preparation. He questioned that this team is one of the fittest team in the world, but workload pressure comes on the team only after playing T20 matches.

He suggested that to win the match and series, it is necessary that warm-up matches should be played 15 days before the series. Top players can be rested and reserve players can be given a chance. Players kept in reserve do not get a chance to prove themselves. He also cited the example of Kapil Dev. Sunil Gavaskar said that Kapil Dev has been such a player who used to be completely fit even without going to the gym. He used to run only on the ground. Used to do both bowling and batting for practice.
