Ujjain Mahakal Corridor will be grand at a cost of 750 crores, PM Modi will inaugurate in the month of June
The construction of the corridor of the world famous Mahakal temple in the holy city of Ujjain in Madhya Pradesh has been completed. Final furnishing work is going on. This corridor has been constructed at a cost of Rs 750 crore. Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has directed Ujjain Smart City Company to complete the work in May. The company’s CEO Ashish Pathak has claimed to have completed all the work before May 15. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the first phase of Ujjain’s Mahakal temple expansion scheme in June. Ujjain DM Ashish Singh told that this project is worth about Rs 750 crore. With the construction of this corridor, the premises of Mahakal temple, which is currently 2 hectares, will increase to 20 hectares. Its first phase is of 350 crores.
Its work is almost done. Mahakal Corridor, Facility Center, Surface Parking, Mahakal Gate are being constructed in this complex. Out of the amount spent on this Mahakal corridor, Rs 422 crore has been given by the state government, Rs 21 crore by the temple committee and the rest by the central government. Under the Mahakal Corridor Project, the construction of the 920 meter long corridor, Mahakal temple entrance, shops, idols on the Rudrasagar side started on March 7, 2019. A firm from Gujarat is getting this work done. Earlier it was to be completed in September 2020. But this has been extended many times till now. The size of the Mahakal Corridor is about 3 times bigger than the Kashi Vishwanath Corridor built in Kashi.
