United Cup: America, Italy take early lead in city finals of tournament
Sydney. Madison Keys gave the United States an early lead over Britain in the Sydney City final of the United Cup tennis tournament here on Wednesday. Keys beat Katie Swan 2-6, 6-3, 6-4 in a match that lasted two hours and 18 minutes at the Ken Roswell Arena to give the US a 1-0 lead. In the second match of the day, Taylor Fritz of America will face Cameron Nouri of Britain. In the Brisbane final, world number one Iga Swiatek will look to draw Poland against Italy in the mixed team tournament.

World number 23 Lorenzo Musetti beat Daniel Michalski of Poland 6-1, 6-1 to give Italy a 1-0 lead. Swiatek takes on Martina Trevisan. Greece will take on Croatia in the Perth City final. In each city final, teams will play four singles matches and one doubles match if required.
