BGT 2023: India’s big win in Nagpur Test, Australia surrendered in 3 days, defeated by an innings and 132 runs

Ravichandran Ashwin took five wickets in the ongoing first Test match between India and Australia. He took five wickets in the second innings. Mohammed Shami and Ravindra Jadeja took two wickets each in the second innings. Thanks to the bowlers, India won the Nagpur Test by an innings and 132 runs.

With the help of Axar Patel’s 84 and Mohammed Shami’s 37, India took a 223-run lead by scoring 400 runs in the first innings on the third day of the first cricket Test against Australia on Saturday. Akshar and Shami shared a 52-run partnership for the ninth wicket. India started playing ahead of yesterday’s score of 321 runs for seven wickets. Ravindra Jadeja lost his wicket to Todd Murphy on 70 runs yesterday.

The pitch did not see much change on the third day as well and the batsmen did not face much trouble on a slow track. The lunch break was taken at the end of the Indian innings. Shami was given life by Scott Boland on the score of six off Nathan Lyon. After this, Shami hit Australia’s best bowler Murphy for three sixes. He first played a slog sweep over mid-wicket, then hit a straight drive over long-off and then hit a six over long-on.

On the basis of his aggressive innings, a 50-run partnership was formed in just 65 minutes. Patel allowed Shami to take most of the strike. Shami lost his wicket in an attempt to hit the fourth six. Patel then hit Murphy for his first six of the innings. Australian captain Pat Cummins ended the Indian innings by bowling Patel.
