SAAF Championship: Maldives start campaign with a win as they beat Bhutan 2-0

Bangalore. Two-time champions Maldives beat Bhutan 2-0 in the SAFF Football Championship here on Thursday. Mohamed Hamza scored the first goal for the Maldives from a penalty corner in the sixth minute at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium here. Neez Hassan then scored another goal in the 89th minute to seal a 2-0 victory for Maldives and give his team three points.

The Maldivian team came into this match as a strong contender due to their experienced players but Bhutan gave them a tough fight. Maldives, however, started their campaign with a win, scoring one goal each in both the halves.
