Border and Hayden lambasted the Australian team for poor batting

Australia’s legendary cricketers Allan Border and Matthew Hayden strongly criticized the poor performance of their country’s batsmen who lost their wickets in the second innings of the second Test against India. Australia started playing ahead of 61 runs for one wicket in the morning but their team was bundled out for 113 runs in the first session itself. Five of his batsmen were dismissed trying to sweep or reverse sweep, including Steve Smith, Matthew Renshaw, Alex Carey, Pat Cummins and Matthew Kuhnmann.

Former captain Border said that the Australian players showed haste and none of the batsmen tried to play a defensive game. Border said on Fox Cricket, “I am disappointed, I am shocked. I am angry with the way we batted today. No one tried to stand up. Nobody tried to stop the flow of wicket fall by playing defensive game. He was just getting out by playing sweep shots, reverse sweeps on every ball.

Former opener Hayden said he could not believe what he was seeing. He said, “I could not believe what I was seeing. He is a world class player. He batted well last evening. Their defense was good and they tried to dominate, but what we saw today was a disaster.

Former batsman Michael Hussey said that Australia had a chance to win but squandered it. He said, “They will be very disappointed. They had the upper hand before the start of today’s game but unfortunately squandered the opportunity. Most of them gifted their wickets to the Indians.
