FIH Pro League 2022-23: India make a strong comeback, beat Great Britain 4-2 in penalty shootout

The Indian hockey team has won against Great Britain in a spectacular manner in the FIH Pro League. India defeated Great Britain 4-2 in the penalty shoot-out in a thrilling match played at the Lee Valley Hockey and Tennis Center in London on Saturday. Abhishek Singh scored in the final penalty shootout to give India a 4–2 win after a 4–4 draw. Manpreet Singh brought India on par with his nimble skills. Earlier, skipper Harmanpreet Singh scored twice as the Indian hockey team made a stunning comeback after consecutive losses in their European leg of the FIH Pro League, beating Olympic champions Belgium 5-1 on Friday.
Earlier, the Indian hockey team had lost 2-4 to Great Britain in their second match. This was the second consecutive defeat of the Indian team. Great Britain scored three field goals while India scored both of their goals from penalty corners. The Indian team lost 1-2 to Belgium in their first match due to a last minute goal conceded. Brilliant goalkeeping by Krishna Bahadur Pathak who saved twice in the shootout in today’s match.
