Agar said that playing Test in India has been a dream since the beginning

Playing Test cricket in India has been a dream for Australia all-rounder Ashton Agar and he is relishing the prospect of bowling on spin-friendly wickets in the subcontinent in the four-Test series starting in February. Australia is scheduled to tour India in February-March to play four Tests and three ODIs. Agar, who was selected in Australia’s squad for the third and final Test against South Africa due to injury to Cameron Green, said playing in India has been his dream since the beginning.

According to the Sydney Morning Herald, Agar said, “It was on my mind. I used to enjoy watching Test matches being played there and it has always been my dream to play Test cricket in India. There are types. He helps the spinners. I would definitely like to go on this tour but let’s see what happens in the future. Left-arm spinner Agar has taken nine wickets in four Tests so far. He played his last Test match in 2017.

He has so far played 63 first-class matches with a bowling average of 41.84. He has also scored 2271 runs which includes three centuries. The 29-year-old played a brilliant inning of 98 runs while batting at number 11 in his Test debut against England in 2013. He said that if he gets a chance, he would prefer to bat at number seven. Agar said, “If I get a chance, I will bat around number seven. That would be a really cool responsibility. I have been batting at number seven for Western Australia.
