The Asian Games are about to start soon, for which the country’s veteran wrestlers have also started preparing. Vinesh Phogat, Bajrang Punia, Geeta Phogat etc., among the wrestlers who accused Indian Wrestling Federation President Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh of sexual harassment, have now started practicing for the upcoming tournament Asian Games.

According to the information, the veteran wrestlers of the country have started practicing at the Sports Authority of India’s center. To participate in the Asian Games, wrestlers will first have to go through trials to qualify. So far this information has not been revealed whether Sakshi Malik has also started the practice or not. It is believed that with the commencement of practice, all the wrestlers are expected to bring medals for the country.

Asian Olympic Council can take a decision
Let us tell you that there is a possibility that the Olympic Council of Asia may turn down the request for further extension of the July 15 deadline for sending the names of the Indian wrestling team for the Asian Games. The Indian Olympic Association has made a request in this regard. According to this, the wrestlers protesting against the President of the Wrestling Federation of India will have to give trials without preparation as they did not get time to practice due to the prolonged protest. The Asian Games are to be held in Hangzhou, China from September 23 and the IOA has to give the names of the players by July 15. The protesting wrestlers, including Vinesh Phogat, Bajrang Punia and Sakshi Malik, wanted to prepare for the trials, which is why they requested the Sports Ministry to hold the trials in August.

The IOA on Friday spoke to the OCA on behalf of the wrestlers. A source said that it would be difficult for the OCA to accept the IOA’s request. He said, “OCA has to see 45 countries in 40 sports disciplines in the Asian Games. In such a situation, it will be difficult for him to accept the request of IOA to extend the deadline for wrestling. If it was a matter of 4-5 days, it could have been considered, but it is difficult to extend the deadline for 40-45 days. ”The source said that since the National Olympic Committee has requested, the OCA will consider the matter. The source, however, said that the OCA does not want to get into the local politics of any country.
