New Delhi. The All India Football Federation (AIFF) on Monday re-appointed Sweden’s Thomas Dennerby as the head coach of the national women’s team while the technical committee recommended Gokulam Kerala’s Anthony Andrews.
Andrews’ name was recommended by the IM Vijayan-led technical committee but it is learned that a majority of the players in the national team were in favor of retaining Dennerby as coach and had urged the AIFF about the same. Andrews, however, will stay with the team as he has been appointed coach while Maymol Rocky will be the assistant coach and Ronibala Chanu the goalkeeping coach.
