Asia Cup 2023 Hosting Pakistan | Shahid Afridi said on Asia Cup – ICC will not be able to do anything in front of BCCI

Pakistan all-rounder Shahid Afridi feels that even the ICC (International Cricket Council) will be unable to do anything to the BCCI (Indian Cricket Board) as far as hosting the 2023 Asia Cup in his country is concerned. The BCCI refused to play in Pakistan due to political tensions between the two countries. Due to which the hosting of the tournament in Pakistan later this year has become a doubt. This continental tournament assumes significance as it is to be held just before the ODI World Cup to be held in India.

Pakistan has threatened to boycott the tournament in retaliation. Afridi told ‘Sama TV’, “I don’t know, will India tour Pakistan for the Asia Cup or not? Will we boycott the ODI World Cup to be held in India? But we have to decide on this sometime. “ICC’s role becomes important in this matter, they should come forward,” he said. But at the same time I want to say that even ICC will not be able to do anything in front of BCCI. Afridi said that the BCCI has made itself so strong that’s why it has such dominance. “It is not easy to take such a big decision if someone is not able to stand on his feet. They have to see many things. If India is showing eyes and taking such a strong decision, then they have made themselves so strong. Afridi said, “They can talk like this, otherwise they would not have had that much courage.” ,

Afridi’s comments came after India’s veteran off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin made comments on the controversial issue. In a video shared on his YouTube channel, Ashwin said, “The Asia Cup was to be held in Pakistan. But India has announced that if it happens in Pakistan, we will not participate in it. Change the venue if you want us to participate. But we must have seen this happening many times. He said, “When we say that we will not go to his place, he will say that he will also not come to our place. Similarly, Pakistan has said that they too will not come to the World Cup. But I think it is not possible. ,
He said, “The final decision could be that the Asia Cup should be shifted to Sri Lanka. It is an important tournament for the 50-over World Cup. There have been many tournaments in Dubai. If it is shifted so that it is done in Sri Lanka, I will be happy. There is a tussle between the BCCI and the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) over the venue of the Asia Cup.
