Boult’s two shocks in his first over put us in trouble: Warner
Delhi Capitals captain David Warner on Saturday said Trent Boult’s two-wicket haul in the first over made all the difference as his team suffered a 57-run defeat at the hands of Rajasthan Royals in their Indian Premier League match here. Boult (3/39) lost the wickets of Prithvi Shaw and Manish Pandey in successive balls as Delhi Capitals could only manage 142 for nine in their chase of 200 and suffered their third defeat in a row. Warner said after the match, “Can’t take credit for how good Trent Boult is in the powerplay, he bowled brilliantly.” Coming here to chase 200 and losing early wickets in the powerplay was challenging. ,
Warner played an inning of 65 runs but he did not look dangerous. On the other hand, Rajasthan Royals captain Sanju Samson praised the spin duo of Yuzvendra Chahal (3/27) and Ravichandran Ashwin (2/25), saying, “Ashwin reads the batsmen very well.” He is always guessing by looking at the batsman.
