Concacaf Gold Cup | Mexico beat Honduras 4-0 in CONCACAF Cup opener
Houston. Two goals from Luis Romo helped Mexico beat Honduras 4-0 in the opening match of the CONCACAF (Confederation of Football of North, Central America and the Caribbean) Gold Cup football. It was the team’s first win under interim coach Jaime Lozano. Romo opened the team’s account by scoring a goal in the 50th second of the match. This is the team’s fastest goal in the Gold Cup.

He doubled Mexico’s lead in the 23rd minute with his third international goal. In this Group B match, Orbelin Pineda (52nd minute) and Luis Chavez (64th minute) scored the other two goals for the team. In the other group match, Haiti beat invitees Kuwait 2-1. Trinidad and Tobago beat St Kitts and Nevis 3-0 in the Group A match played in Florida.
