In the match played on November 28 last year in Srinagar, RKFC defeated Churchill Brothers Football Club 1-0. RKFC officials said that in the 64th minute of the match, RKFC mistakenly called for a substitution but within a minute it was rectified by the club’s head coach Mehrajuddin Vaadu.

But the officiating fourth umpire and the match referee asked RKFC to replace the player as it was written on the board. He said that the player was not substituted even after being told by the fourth official and that could be clearly seen in the video evidence the broadcaster provided. Churchill Brothers FC approached the AIFF’s Disciplinary Committee which in a meeting gave a decision in favor of RKFC on December 23 last year. The Disciplinary Committee found that based on the video evidence and the submissions of the match officials, the player had not been substituted as no player came out from inside the ground and no player entered from outside.
