Lucknow. On Monday, Justice Mohammad Ghazali, in-charge of ATS, ordered the remand of seven days for interrogation of Ahmed Murtaza Abbasi, accused of attacking and injuring policemen posted outside the Gorakhnath temple in Uttar Pradesh.
The ATS will keep accused Murtaza in custody from 11 am on April 26 to 11 am on May 3. Accused Ahmed Murtaza Abbasi was brought to the court by the ATS from Gorakhpur jail, along with a letter from the Gorakhpur jail superintendent, in which the superintendent has requested to keep the accused in Lucknow jail.
ATS Joint Director Atul Kumar Ojha, on behalf of ATS Investigator and Deputy Superintendent of Police Sanjay Verma, filed an application seeking police custody of the accused for seven days, stating that the accused was arrested after the attack on the Gorakhnath temple on April 4. and a report was lodged at Gorakhnath police station.
Later the investigation of the case was handed over to the ATS. At the same time, the Gorakhpur court had given the accused on custody remand for interrogation till April 16, during the investigation the data of electronic devices found from the accused was searched, analysis of which has yielded many facts. It was said that the accused needs to be interrogated about those facts.
