Cricket: Unadkat made a new record as soon as he got on the field, the most difference in two matches

Mirpur. Indian fast bowler Jaydev Unadkat created a unique record as soon as he took the field in the second Test cricket match against Bangladesh here on Thursday. He has become the Indian cricketer who has been ruled out of most Test matches. Unadkat made his Test debut 12 years ago on 16 December 2010 against South Africa at Centurion. After this, now he returned to the team after being out of 118 Test matches. This is a record from India, while in world cricket, he has come second in the list of players who have been out of most Test matches. The record is in the name of England’s Gareth Batty, who had to wait 142 matches between two Test matches.

Unadkat has been named in the squad in place of left-arm wrist spinner Kuldeep Yadav, who was adjudged man of the match in India’s 188-run win in the first Test in Chittagong. Unadkat, playing his second Test match against Bangladesh, picked up the wicket of opener Zakir Hasan, who had scored a century in the first Test, in the morning session against Bangladesh. Unadkat was included in the squad for the tour of Bangladesh in place of injured Mohammed Shami. He was rewarded for his good performance in the Vijay Hazare Trophy for Saurashtra. Saurashtra captain Unadkat was the highest wicket-taker in the Vijay Hazare Trophy with 19 wickets in 10 matches. He took 353 wickets in 96 first-class matches before returning to Test cricket against Bangladesh.
