Deepak Chahar will have a scan, Ben Stokes injured his toes

Super Kings and India fast bowler Deepak Chahar was injured during the Indian Premier League match against Mumbai Indians here on Saturday and will undergo a scan. In the match played at Wankhede Stadium, Chahar bowled one over at the start of the match but after that he returned to the pavilion where he was given first aid. Chahar did not enter the field after that. Chennai won this match by seven wickets.

The hamstring of the 30-year-old bowler’s left leg will be scanned for an accurate assessment of the injury. Due to this injury, he may be out of few matches. Chahar had been battling injuries for a long time and made a comeback in this IPL only but he struggled in the first two matches. Chennai Super Kings said in a statement, “Chahar will be scanned upon the team’s return to Chennai to properly assess his injury.”

Meanwhile, Ben Stokes, who played in the first two matches for Chennai, has suffered a toe injury. He did not play in the match against Mumbai Indians on Saturday. “Chennai Super Kings cricketer Ben Stokes is undergoing treatment for a minor toe injury that kept him out of the match against Mumbai Indians,” read the statement.
