English Premier League: Arsenal beat West Ham 3-1 on Boxing Day
London. Arsenal consolidated their position at the top of the English Premier League (EPL) on one of the busiest days of the English Premier League (EPL) by defeating West Ham 3-1 on Boxing Day. Newcastle beat Leicester 3-0 in another match to take second place but are seven points behind Arsenal. Arsenal have 40 points from 15 matches while Newcastle have 33 points from 16 matches. Manchester City have slipped to third place.West Ham took an early lead through a 27th-minute penalty kick from Said Bannerham but Arsenal were able to hit back.

Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli and Eddie Nketia scored for his side in the second half. Harry Kane scored on his Premier League return after missing a penalty in England’s World Cup quarter-final loss to France. With the help of his goal, fourth-placed Tottenham drew the match 2–2 against Brantford despite being two goals behind. In another match, Liverpool defeated Aston Villa 3–1.
