English Premier League: Manchester City won by Haaland’s two goals

Manchester. Manchester City registered a comfortable 4-1 win against Southampton in the English Premier League (EPL) football tournament here on Saturday thanks to two goals from Erling Haaland. With these two goals, Haaland has scored 30 goals in his first season with City. Jack Grealish and Julian Alvarez scored two other goals for the team. Sekou Mara scored the lone goal for Southampton. With this win, Manchester City have kept the pressure on Arsenal in the title race.

Arsenal, however, maintain a five-point lead at the top of the table. Arsenal have 72 points from 29 matches while second-placed Manchester City have 67 points from the same number of matches. After Arsenal and City, the battle has also intensified for two teams to join the top four. Newcastle, Manchester United and Tottenham are in the race for a top four finish. Newcastle came from behind against Brentford to win 2–1 with a David Raya own goal.

Another goal from Newcastle was scored by Alexander Isak. Manchester United beat Everton 2–0 while Tottenham beat Brighton 2–1. Third-placed Newcastle and Manchester United are on the same number of points but Newcastle are ahead on better goal difference. Both these teams of Tottenham have three points less and they are in fifth place.
