Former Indian cricket team batsman Gautam Gambhir has criticized many Indian cricketers for doing pan masala advertisement. He has targeted the players who advertise Pan Masala. Without naming these players, Gautam Gambhir said that there are many other ways to earn money. But this approach is very disappointing.

Significantly, the Pan Masala Company is promoting its Pan Masala through mouth freshener’s ad. At the same time, being the idol of many youths, the advertisement of such products by the players has been described as highly condemnable.

Gautam Gambhir said that lakhs of crores of people, youth and children follow the players who have represented the country. He is considered as his idol and role model. In such a situation, doing such advertisements without thinking and only for the purpose of earning money is to motivate the youth for wrong habits. He also shared an anecdote about Sachin Tendulkar, saying that he had also rejected an offer of Rs 20 crore to advertise Pan Masala. Significantly, Bharat Ratna awarded Sachin Tendulkar has never advertised any pan masala or any such product.

Gautam Gambhir said that I had never thought in my life that a sportsperson could advertise pan masala. It is very disappointing to see such a move. The youth should choose their role model wisely. He also targeted the players and said that the players are not identified by their name but by their work. In such a situation, the work done by him can leave a long impact on the youth and the society. Instead of taking such steps, players should have the courage to let big checks go.
