Hero Super Cup: Rahim’s two goals help Chennaiyin beat Northeast United 4-2
Manjeri. Rahim Ali scored twice to help Chennaiyin FC beat Northeast United FC 4-2 in their Group D match of the Hero Super Cup football tournament here. Chennaiyin FC scored the first goal in the 17th minute itself. Rahim scored this goal on the cross received from the right end. Akash Sangwan doubled Chennai’s lead by scoring the second goal in the 34th minute. When it seemed that the match was completely under the control of Chennaiyin FC, Rocherzela scored the first goal for North East United in the 42nd minute.

The Chennai team maintained its dominance in the second half as well. They took a 3-0 lead in the fifth minute of the second half through Dukar’s goal while Rahim scored his second and fourth for the team in the 82nd minute. Emile Beni narrowly reduced the margin of defeat with a late goal for North East.
