Historic decision of BCCI, women cricketers will get equal pay as men’s team, Jay Shah announced

The Board of Control for Cricket in India has taken a historic decision today. It is a decision which is too little to be appreciated. The BCCI has announced that everyone will get equal match fees, ending discrimination in women’s and men’s cricket. This information has been tweeted by Jay Shah, Secretary, Board of Control for Cricket in India. In his tweet, Jay Shah wrote that it is a matter of great pleasure to inform that BCCI has taken the first step towards tackling discrimination. We are implementing a wage equity policy for our contracted women cricketers.

Jay Shah clearly said that match fees will be same for both male and female cricketers as we are entering a new era of gender equality in cricket. In another tweet, she said that BCCI women cricketers will be paid the same match fees as their male counterparts. Test (INR 15 Lakh), ODI (INR 6 Lakh), T20I (INR 3 Lakh).
