ICC visits San Francisco, Los Angeles, Texas for T20 World Cup

The International Cricket Council’s (ICC) site visit team visited some cities like Auckland, Florida and Los Angeles for the 2024 T20 World Cup which will be hosted jointly by the US and West Indies Cricket. America Cricket President Atul Rai gave this information. The biggest ‘box office’ clash of the ICC tournament “India vs Pakistan” is likely to take place in America and not in the West Indies considering the viewership for both the teams.

In an interview to PTI, Rai said, “Looking at the response India’s tie against the West Indies has received in Florida, it will be moved to the US.” All the tickets for this match of India were sold out. The 2024 global tournament in the US will be the first of its kind, while the Caribbean has already hosted a 50-over (2007) and a T20 World Cup. Rai said, “The ICC tournament team, headed by Chris Tetley, visited in May in which they visited a lot of grounds in different cities. He came again a few weeks back (December) and visited the sites.
