Indian women’s hockey team held Australia to a 1-1 draw

Adelaide. Deep Grace Ekka struck a goal as the Indian women’s hockey team managed a 1-1 draw after coming from behind against Australia in the last match of the three-match series here on Sunday. India had already lost the series 0–2. Deep converted a penalty corner in the 42nd minute of the match. Madison Brooke scored the only goal of the match for Australia in the 25th minute. India started the match on a positive note, focusing on good passing while keeping the ball under control. Australia also earned two penalty corners during this period, putting pressure on the Indian defence. Both the teams failed to capitalize on the opportunities in the first quarter.

The Indian team started the second quarter aggressively but Brooke converted a brilliant pass on a free hit to give Australia the lead. The third quarter began with India pushing for an equaliser. The team also got its advantage when Grace converted the penalty corner to equalize the score. After this, Australia put pressure on the Indian defense by adopting an aggressive approach but the team did not get success. The Indian team will now play against Australia A on Thursday.
