The Indian captain was immediately taken to the hospital and was operated upon. However, by the time he reached the hospital, he had lost a lot of blood and needed additional blood to save his life. In such a situation, apart from Frank Worrell, other players of the team also donated blood to save the life of the Indian captain Contractor, after which the Indian captain’s life could be saved. However, he could never return to the cricket field.
 
Frank also captained the West Indies team. In recognition of his great contribution to the sport, the Central Bank of Barbados also printed Frank’s picture on its postage stamps and currency notes. Not every player has got such an achievement.

During this, blood donors are given certificates which are signed by prominent cricketers of the country.
