Apart from the historical serial ‘Chandragupta Maurya’, actor Rohit Purohit, who has shown his acting skills in many serials including the comedy serial ‘Dil To Happy Hai Ji’, is seen in the role of a doctor these days in the serial ‘Dhadkan Zindagi Ki’.

Serial Name”heartbeat of life how do you feel?
This name makes the plot of this serial clear. At the heart of the story of this serial is the medical drama based on the lives of doctors and their struggles, sacrifices and contribution to the society. In this serial I am Dr. I am playing the character of Vikrant, who is a very arrogant person. He is in love with Dr. Deepika (Aditi Gupta), but has different demands from Deepika’s life. Because her upbringing has taught her that men are superior to women and men are always one step ahead of women. He believes in all these things and goes with the flow of society. He is very ambitious and is one of the top surgeons in the country. His transformation is very interesting.
How many similarities are there between Rohit and Dr. Vikrant?
In personal life, I am not like Vikrant. I never thought that men are superior to women. Because I have seen many strong women in my life, be it my mother, my wife and many others and I know what she can do. But I must admit that I am also Dr. I am ambitious like Vikrant.
Are you playing a doctor for the first time?
Yes! I am playing the role of a doctor for the first time in a serial. This serial itself is based on doctors. It is interesting and thrilling for me to play this character. When I started working on the serial ‘Dhadkan Zindagi Ki’… it was not easy, unlike some of my earlier shows here things have to be kept quite natural and subtle. It was to see that we are doctors and not actors playing doctors, so basically it was challenging, the medical terms were tough, also how to deal with a patient needed to look authentic Yes etc. were difficult. Whenever we see a doctor, we feel that it is not human, is it? They don’t care about anything? But, he gets impressed and worried, but he doesn’t show it to the patient. They have to keep themselves strong. It is a challenge to play such characters.
You are working with producer duo Herumb and Nilanjana for the first time. How was the experience?
It’s not like this. I have worked with Nilanjana ma’am and Herumb sir before and I feel really blessed to be working with them again. He is very creative and also gives us our creative freedom. This is my third show with Nilanjana ma’am, I did Chandragupta Maurya and Dil Toh Happy Hai Ji with her. This time too, in between, she kept offering me other projects, but it didn’t work out for some reason or the other.
