According to the latest Test rankings released by the ICC, James Anderson is the world’s number one fast bowler. James Anderson has 866 rating points. At number two is Ravichandran Ashwin of India who has 864 points.

This special record of 87 years old has been broken in Anderson. He has become the number one bowler at the age of 40 years 207 days. This record was earlier held by the great Australian fast bowler Clarrie Grimmett. Clary Grimmett made this record in 1936. However, Australia’s fast bowler and captain Pat Cummins has suffered a setback. After being the number one bowler for 1466 days, he has now slipped to number three. Ravindra Jadeja moved up seven places to join the top 10 bowlers. Jadeja managed to reach the ninth position after taking 10 wickets in the second Test against Australia in New Delhi. He has reached the top 10 for the first time since September 2019.

Injured fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah is the other Indian bowler in the top 10, occupying the fifth position.
