Livingstone will join the Punjab Kings team on April 10.

England batsman Liam Livingstone will join his team Punjab Kings on April 10 after getting fitness clearance from the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) to play in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Livingstone was injured during his Test debut in Pakistan four months ago. He suffered a knee injury due to which he could not play competitive cricket thereafter. Meanwhile, his ankle injury from last year also came to the fore. An IPL source told ‘PTI-Bhasha’ that Livingstone is coming to India on 10 April.

This source said, “He will reach here on Monday.” Punjab Kings have to play their next match against Sunrisers Hyderabad on April 9 and it is certain that the team will not get the services of Livingstone in this match. However, he can take the field for the team’s fourth match of the season on 13 April. Livingstone said on Thursday that he is close to regaining full fitness. “I am getting to that point now,” Livingstone told LanceTV. The last two months have been very difficult but finally now I am very excited to play cricket like a little kid.

He said, “Hopefully within the next two days I will get permission to go there.” I am eager to play and hope to finally get approval in the next 48 hours. Livingstone is a key player for the Punjab Kings. The team had retained him before the auction last year for Rs 11.50 crore. He scored 437 runs in the last season at a strike rate of 182.08.
