Mamta Banerjee’s four-day visit to Delhi from today, discusses the strategy for the winter session with top opposition leaders

New Delhi: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee will reach the national capital on a four-day visit from Monday. She will be in the national capital till November 25. According to news agency PTI, the TMC chief is expected to meet Prime Minister Modi during his visit to Delhi. The two are expected to discuss issues such as the Centre’s controversial move to expand the BSF’s jurisdiction. Mamata Banerjee’s visit to the capital comes days ahead of the winter session of Parliament that begins on November 29. According to sources, the Trinamool chief will meet the opposition leaders and discuss the strategy to take on the BJP. There is likely to be another explosive session – in which the repeal of agricultural laws will play a key role. Farmers unions strongly protested against three agricultural laws passed in Parliament last year amid an uproar and protested for 15 months against the Narendra Modi government. Congratulations to the farmers on the implementation of the agricultural law

PM Modi had announced last week that all three laws would be repealed. The formal process of scrapping the laws is expected in the winter session of Parliament. After PM Modi’s announcement to repeal agricultural laws, Banerjee had extended heartfelt congratulations to each and every farmer in a tweet from her official Twitter handle. He also expressed condolences to the families of the slain farmers and slammed the BJP for the brutality meted out to the protesters. Banerjee had written a letter to PM Modi last month on the Centre’s controversial move to expand the BSF’s jurisdiction. In his letter, he slammed it as an attempt to interfere with the federal structure of the country.

The Center had increased the BSF’s jurisdiction to 50 km from the International Border in Bengal, Punjab and Assam, which was earlier strongly criticized by the two states. Assam is ruled by BJP. Punjab, where Congress is in power, will go to polls next year. Mamata Banerjee had last visited Delhi in July this year. This was his first visit after the Trinamool Congress returned to power in the Bengal assembly elections. During his last visit to Delhi, he met Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The Trinamool Congress supremo also met Congress President Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi. (cm mamata delhi tour )
